Girls and boys aged 10 to 15 years old

The girls

A little effort every day = big results

At the age of 10-14, girls begin their second growth spurt. It’s an essential stage for the alignment of teeth and jaws.

Before

The benefits of orthodontic treatment:

  • Guiding jaw growth
  • Correction of the difference between the dimensions of two jaws.
  • Tooth alignment
  • Duration between 12 and 24 months

Treatment duration depends on a number of factors:

  • Case complication
  • Patient age
  • Keeping control appointments
  • Patient-side cooperation

The boys

Using growth to achieve optimal results!

Adolescents enter their second growth spurt between the ages of 12 and 15. During this period, corrections can be made not only to the teeth, but also to the jaws.

Example treatment of a boy with a Class II malocclusion.

PHASE ONE

Phase 1 – The goal is to influence the direction of jaw growth. Treatment begins around age 7-8 with an interceptive appliance to ensure a normal relationship between the upper and lower jaws.

Before

Second phase.

The goal is to achieve a normal relationship between the upper and lower jaws, along with balanced tooth alignment. This phase generally begins around age 12. We may use an expansion appliance, an appliance with facial traction, or braces. Thanks to the treatment completed in Phase 1, Phase 2 is typically easier and shorter in duration.
