Children aged
7 to 10

PHASE ONE

Interceptive treatment

Treatment is carried out with the help of a fixed or removable appliance.
The aim of this stage of treatment is to create a balance of forces between the tongue and facial muscles, thereby ensuring more space for the normal eruption of permanent teeth. This treatment should be initiated if the following dental anomalies are present:

  • a non-normal rash
  • bad habits
  • anterior teeth too advanced
  • loss of primary teeth too early
  • lack of balance between tongue and facial muscles
  • abnormal jaw growth
A little effort every day = big results

THE BENEFITS OF INTERCEPTIVE PROCESSING

  • Children at this age are very cooperative.
  • Optimal use of growth rate
  • Upper teeth that are too advanced through treatment are much less exposed to the risk of accidents.
  • We keep the place of the permanent tooth if a primary tooth is extracted very early.
  • On garde la place de la dent permanente si une dent primaire est extraite très tôt

Example of interceptive treatment
Patient had an expansion appliance and subsequently wore a removable eyelid with myofacial appliances.

MAINTENANCE PHASE

At the end of this phase, you can wear a retainer and have a check-up at the clinic every 6 months.

SECOND PHASE

Treatment with housings

During the interceptive phase, we have no control over the 16 permanent teeth that have not yet erupted. After eruption of these teeth, if there are any problems, we continue treatment with braces. The effect of this phase is to align the teeth, support normal jaw development and correct misalignments. Treatment duration can vary from 12 to 24 months.
