Dental plaque is a whitish deposit that sticks to the surface of the teeth. Mainly made up of bacteria, it hardens and turns into tartar if not removed in time.  <\/p><p>Unfortunately, at this stage, only a dental professional can remove it. If you neglect to do so, a variety of problems may arise in the longer term. <\/p><p>The second step in the check-up is to examine your gums with an instrument that measures the space between your teeth and gums. If this space is minimal, your gums are in good health; if it is more pronounced, there is inflammation. Of course, this examination takes into account the particularities of each patient (eating habits, smoking habits, salivary characteristics, diabetes, etc.).
